Established in 2012, Bondar is the vision of husband and wife team Andre Bondar and Selina Kelly. Andre, with a history as a winemaker in the Adelaide Hills and Selina with a background in marketing and law. Their home is the Rayner Vineyard on Chalk Hill Road in McLaren Vale, originally established by the Rayner family where the oldest vines date back to the 1950s. 

In a relatively short period of time Bondar has made a big impression on the Australian wine scene, including being named James Halliday's 'Best New Winery' in his 2017 Australian Wine Companion.

ABOUT BONDAR 2021 JUNTO GSM

This wine is a blend of Grenache (73%), Shiraz (13%), Mataro (12%) and Carignan (2%). All grapes were hand-picked from vineyards throughout McLaren Vale. This wine region is the birthplace of wine in South Australia and offers one of the most geologically diverse regions (19 soil types have been mapped) with a Mediterranean climate, which is ideal growing conditions for different grape varieties.

In this wine, the Grenache leads the blend with its pretty red fruits and perfume, and the more interesting varieties bring complexity, with spice and structure from the Mataro and herbal notes from the Carignan. This Southern Rhone style blend is vibrant and fresh with plenty of personality.
